[Open-Xchange Server Edition Maintenance Announcements]

Dear Customers of Open-Xchange,
 
today Open-Xchange releases Open-Xchange Server v.6.18.2. This Update includes new versions of
 
- Open-Xchange Server 6 (OX6), the common basis for the products OX HE (Hosting Edition), OX SE (Server Edition), OXASE (Advanced Server Edition), OXSE for UCS (Server Edition for UCS), and the
- OXtender for Microsoft Outlook
- OX Client Updater
- OXtender for Business Mobility
 
The Open-Xchange Server 6 v6.18.2 is available for all customers with a valid Open-Xchange license.
 
This release presents a number of user interface improvements, including new convenient panel design, new icon set for more flexibility, general usability enhancements and additional features making the interface easier to use and more appealing:

- Search for Categories
- New OXtender for Business Mobility update

Please Note:
 
- Setting default Folder Tree Layout
OX introduced a new layout for the folder tree. This allows the user to decide, if he wants to have a user friendly simplified way to display the folder tree, or if he wants to work with the expert tree containing all modules and folders in one combined tree. In OX versions prior 6.18.1 only the expert tree was available. With the final launch, Open-Xchange will provide a plug-in to define the folder tree layout only during the first login with 6.18.2.
 
- New Panel Design
The new panel is more streamlined, modern and clearly structured. The most frequently used functions are just a fingertip away. As default they are shown as increased icons. Thanks to this new structure and the increased main icons the functions are more clearly visible and can be recognized at a glance. The panel can be expanded or collapsed per module. That's extremely helpful, as you might want to leave it expanded for a module, the functions you frequently need and leave it collapsed for other modules that you do not use extensively.
 
- New Icon Set for more Flexibility
The new release v6.18.2 provides users with a complete technical redesigned icon set for the user interface. All icons are available as vector graphic to provide an improved theme-ability of the Open-Xchange user interface. Additionally, it was necessary for the new convenient panel design, to create new icons with different size. With the new icon set, the default and the "Light Breeze" theme will be provided with these new icons. Customers are still able to provide their own icons for each theme if they want to. If you have added your own icons/theme, please check your user interface after the update. Maybe it is necessary to re-create your own icons or to add new one.

The version number is the same for the groupware server and the groupware front-end.

Version: v6.18.10 (2010-11-30)
File name: OXtender_for_Microsoft_Outlook_<language>_<version>.msi
When you report bugs, please include the version number in your report.

a) in the splash screen when starting Outlook 
b) Extras -> OXtender for MS Outlook -> About
 
- OX Client Updater
Version: v6.18.3 (2010-11-22)
 
- OXtender for Business Mobility
File names: open-xchange-usm; open-xchange-eas 
When you report bugs, please select “6.18.2” from the version field.

Installation of Open-Xchange 6 v.6.18.2 (Server Edition):
 
Please follow the instructions given at

to install the updates.
 
Installation of Open-Xchange 6 v.6.18.2 (Advanced Server Edition & Server Edition for UCS):
 
The system can then be updated as usual for UCS using the univention-updater net command or the UMC module Online Update.
 
- Please enter your username/password first under the component called „OX" and activate it.
- In the online-updates module of UMC, under Release information, click on "Check for updates"
- Click on "Install this update"
- Under OX component, click on "Check for updates"
- Click on "Install this update"
- Reboot
