[oxse-announce] Open-Xchange releases OX Sync app v1.5.7 for Android and will discontinues support for OX Sync app for Android by end of the year

Dear Customers of Open-Xchange,   

This release provides an update for OX Sync app v1.5.7 for Android. Additionally, we would like to notify you that support for OX Sync app for Android will be discontinued from the 31st of December 2025.

What’s new in OX Sync app v1.5.7 for Android:
- Small bugfixes
- This version removes the dependency on the cloud service, which automatically delivered the settings for different providers. All provider information is now statically bundled in the app. At the same time the MX record resolution does not work anymore. A manual setup also for self-hosted OX App Suite servers is still supported. 

Please note, the app will be removed from Google Play Store by end of December 2025. From this point users will no longer be able to download the app. Please be aware that Open-Xchange will also stop providing further updates and support for the OX Sync app as of January 2026, both on OX App Suite and on the OX Sync app itself.
